Luxuwrist is proud to offer a vintage Omega Seamaster 300, reference 165.014. This Seamaster was manufactured in 1966 and is completely original. This Seamaster is a one owner watch, purchased originally in Germany by a German Air Force soldier. According to the original owner, the watch has traveled all around the world and been on a number of adventures, including scuba diving where it performed flawlessly. After some time, the watch was replaced with a digital watch and sat in a drawer for a number of years before we acquired it. This is a great piece, being the last of the straight lug Seamaster 300s with known provenance and a unique story to tell.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: Original stainless steel case is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears to have been previously polished but the chamfers on the lugs are still visible. There are no major scratches, dings, or dents in the case. The crown is the original skinny logo style.
Bezel: 60 click bidirectional bezel. Bezel action is extremely smooth. The bezel insert is complete and appears to be completely original with some very minor wear near the 6 o’clock side. The numbers on the insert have worn off over time. The insert appears slightly concave as per the original inserts and not convex like all of the replacement parts on the market. The bezel pip is red.
Dial/Hands: Original matte black dial in great condition with no spotting or damage. Markers have a nice patina as shown. The hands are also original and in great condition with only one very small area of the seconds hand missing paint. The dial may have been relumed in the past but it was done very professionally as the lume does not spill out of the markers and fills them nicely with no puffiness or flaky lume.
Caseback: Original caseback in good condition with some fading and wear as shown. Caseback engravings are still visible although the photo lighting does not show this particularly well.
Crystal: Original acrylic crystal in very good condition with some minor surface scratching. The Omega logo is very clear in the center. We have chosen not to polish the crystal to preserve originality.
Movement: Omega cal. 552 in excellent condition running well and keeping great time. The movement is extraordinarily clean for the watch’s age. Serial number is in the 23 million range indicating 1966 production.
Bracelet/Strap: New unworn vintage style leather strap with SS buckle.
Box/Papers/Accessories: None. Sold as watch only.
