1972 Seiko 6138-3000 Automatic Chronograph - SOLD
Here we have of the best values in the vintage watch market by a longshot, and a watch that comes from my personal collection. The Seiko 6138 has the world's first fully integrated column wheel w/ vertical coupling automatic chronograph movement that was developed and produced entirely in-house. The 42mm case gives a modern wearable size while retaining its period styling, and has great details like mixed finishing on the case and stepping on the dial to add depth. To add to the modern functionality, it's double quickset with the day and date adjustable via the crown.
This one is from 1972 as indicated by the serial number on the caseback. It's in great condition as you can see in the photos with minor wear commensurate with age but no deep scratches or dents in the case. The movement functions perfectly incuding chrono start/stop/reset and keeps great time. Case is 42mm x 15mm with its 19mm lug width occupied by the original Seiko fishbone style bracelet. The day wheel is in Roman numerals, a very cool variation of the available day wheels on this piece.
