Most Speedy owners like to live vicariously through the history of the watch and its long space exploration resume. Some prefer the moonwatch to be as close to its original configuration as possible with a hesalite crystal and a closed back. However, technology and trends have changed since we set foot on the moon, so Omega incorporated some modern tech like a sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back while retaining all the DNA of the standard moonwatch. It also helps that the caliber 1863 movement beating away inside is quite easy on the eyes after being expertly finished with Geneva stripes, chamfered and polished bridges and components, and finished hardware.
This "Sapphire Sandwich" model is from 2005 and comes complete with its inner and outer boxes, manual, and cards.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: 42mm stainless steel case in excellent condition as shown in the photos with bright polished areas and sharp edges on the case. There is minor wear throughout consistent with wear.
Bezel: Original black tachymeter bezel in excellent condition with dings or dents and no missing paint on the insert.
Dial/Hands: Matte black dial and hands in perfect condition. Lume is very bright.
Caseback: Sapphire display back with only very minor surface wear as pictures. No missing paint on any of the crisp engravings.
Crystal: Perfect sapphire crystal with no scratches, cracks, or chips.
Movement: Cal. 1863 movement in excellent condition with all functions working as they should, including the chronograph start, stop, and reset. Timekeeping is excellent although service history is unknown.
Bracelet/Strap: Omega 1998 bracelet sized for a 7.25" wrist. Bracelet is in very good condition with only minor surface wear on the bracelet surface and clasp.
Accessories: Original inner and outer boxes, manual, card holder, pictogram, and 2005 dated warranty card are included.
