The Seamaster 300 has been a legend since the late 50s, and collectors are finally taking notice with the seemingly meteoric rise in interest and prices in these watches. The 165.024 has been no exception and original examples continue to see record prices and stay stashed away in safe deposit boxes around the globe.
Thankfully, there's still an affordable option for a vintage Seamaster 300 in what has become known as the "Watchco". These Seamasters are built up from New Old Stock (Hence the NOS) genuine Omega service parts. Watchco in Austrailia was an Omega parts supplier who decided to build up these Seamasters using spare OEM parts and sell them. So while they weren't assembled in Bienne, everything on these watches is a brand new, modern equivalent part. This means the dial, hands, and bezel are all now Luminova parts just like a brand new watch. And the NOS case, caseback, and crystal make this SM300 look like you time traveled to an Omega dealer in the 60s.
This example of the neo-vintage Seamaster 300 has the caliber 565 automatic date movement with a unique pump crown date changing mechanism. comes ready to wear on a new period-correct 1171 bracelet.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: NOS 42mm case. It shows sharp edges and crisp transitions from brushed to polished surfaces. There are a couple minor hairline surface swirls in the polished areas from storage as shown.
Bezel: NOS bezel in like new condition as shown.
Dial/Hands: Mint NOS luminous dial and hands with a black date wheel.
Caseback: NOS caseback in mint condition as shown.
Crystal: Like new OEM Omega crystal with center embossed logo. Crystal has minor hairlines from storage but no large or deep scratches. Pardon the dust in the photos, this is only surface dust.
Movement: NOS Omega caliber 565 automatic movement with date. Watch runs, winds, and sets time as it should and keeps great time. We did not open the caseback to photograph the movement as the watch was recently pressure tested.
Bracelet/Strap: New Omega 1171 bracelet, fully linked but currently sized for a 7.25" wrist.
Accessories: None. Sold as watch only.
