If you’re familiar with our offerings, we’ve taken a certain liking to the Soccer Timer. It’s so quintessential late 60s/early 70s with the cushion case and funky colors, but still fits in with modern vinage-inspired styles. The Soccer Timer came in three variants, a smaller version with no outer internal bezel, a version with a fixed internal tachy bezel, and the version you see here, with an internal rotating bezel.
The rotating bezel models came in a handful of variants, including the "roulette" style 24 hour counter, a 12 hour counter, a 0-60 timing bezel, and finally the 60-0 countdown bezel featured on this watch.
The Soccer Timer is a unique model that has an additional 45-minute counter on the minute totalizer portion of the chronograph to accurately time 45 minute long halves in a soccer match. Along with the unique function is a set of very vibrant and unique color combinations, with this model being no exception as you can see from the photos. The grey dial with splashes of red, orange, and blue make it easy to get lost staring at your wrist with the Soccer Timer on.
Here we have an Omega Seamaster Soccer Timer chronograph, reference 145.019 with a 29 Million serial number dating production to the very early 70’s. This example is in excellent condition, unpolished with a rare countdown bezel and the original bracelet.
Case: 42mm case in excellent vintage condition as shown with original case chamfers still present. There is minor wear throughout commensurate with age but no significant dings or dents. The radial brushing on the case top is still crisp with sharp edges and the case appears to have never been polished.
Bezel: Internal rotating countdown in excellent vintage condition as shown. Bezel action is smooth. The bezel crown on the 9 o'clock case side appears to have been replaced at some point.
Dial/Hands: Original dial and handset in excellent condition as pictured. The tritium markers have faded to an even creamy patina throughout.
Caseback: Original Seamaster caseback marked 145.019 inside. The caseback has crisp engravings as pictured and is in excellent condition.
Crystal: Good condition OEM Omega acrylic crystal (with symbol in the center). The crystal has a few surface scratches but is overall very clear.
Movement: Original Caliber 861 hand wound chronograph movement in excellent condition with the watch keeping excellent time and all functions working as they should, including chronograph reset to zero.
Bracelet/Strap: Original 1117 bracelet with 549 end links in good vintage condition with minor stretch. Bracelet fits a 7.25" wrist.
