Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms, first introduced in 1953, has become one of the most legendary diving watches ever made, especially with its rich military history and timeless design. But at the turn of the century, the brand decided to venture into the avante-garde and use state of the art technologies and materials to push the fifty Fathoms and Blancpain into the future as the Concept 2000 debuted at Basel 1999.
On the mechanical side, it was powered by the twin-barrel automatic caliber 1151 with a lengthy 100 hour power reserve. The 40.5mm stainless case also utilized rubber on the bezel and crown for more comfortable handling of the watch. The bracelet was completely new, made in a blend of steel and fiberglass-reinforced rubber that the brand called "enduring yet utterly stylish".

Our example of the Fifty Fathoms Concept 2000 is all original and in great shape, so take a look at the photos and the condition description below.
Case: 40.5mm stainless steel case in excellent condition with only minor wear as pictured. The rubber on the bezel and crown are intact without any signs of damage.
Bezel: Rotating stainless steel bezel with a blasted finish base and polished raised numerals in excellent condition as pictured. There are some surface scratches on the polished bezel numerals that are highlighted in the harsh light of the photos.
Dial/Hands: Original dial and handset free from any flaws and awesome lume.
Caseback: Original caseback in very good condition with sharp engravings as pictured.
Crystal: Original sapphire crystal in very good condition. There are some light marks to the outer AR coating visible in certain light.
Movement: Blancpain automatic caliber 1151 with twin barrels and a 100 hour power reserve. The watch runs well with all functions working including smooth winding, quickset date operation, and time setting. Service history is unknown.
Bracelet/Strap: Original steel and fiberglass-reinforced rubber bracelet, currently linked for a 7.25" wrist. The bracelet is in excellent condition with only minor wear and no damage to the rubber portions.
Box/Papers/Accessories: None, sold as watch only.
