It only takes one glance to see how this 70s Speedy got its nickname. One of the more unique watches to carry the Speedmaster name, the "TV Dial" 176.0014 is like wearing a time capsule, with the latest and greatest tech of the period, the just-developed Caliber 1045.
The Caliber 1045 is essentially a Lemania 5100 tuned to Omega specs, a total workhorse of a movement developed in the 70s to combat the mounting quartz crisis. The unique layout and signature “airplane” central minutes counter have become unmistakable attributes of this durable piece of kit, used by a number of manufacturers in tool watches of the 70s and 80s.
The 176.0014 has a wonderful blue sunburst dial which really pops with the black tachymeter surround and matte white and black hands. It's also interesting to note that the dial configuration influenced later models like the Speedmaster reduced with printed minute markers inside the lumed hour markers, even keeping the same font decades later. Although the TV Dial is an uncommon and seldom seen watch, it certainly holds its own place in the Speedmaster lineage.
We’re pleased to offer this excellent example of a unique piece of Omega and Speedmaster history.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: 40mm brushed stainless steel square case with a polished bezel in very good vintage condition as shown with minor wear throughout.

Crystal: Original mineral glass crystal with some light edge wear and small marks as shown in the photos.
Movement: Original Caliber 1045 automatic chronograph movement in outstanding condition and keeping excellent time with all functions working as they should including the chronograph start, stop, and reset to zero. Day and date quickset and change over as intended.
Bracelet/Strap: Original ref. XXXX bracelet in excellent condition as shown with only very minor wear. The bracelet is currently sized for a 7.25” wrist on the 4th-smallest micro extension. No extra links are available.
