Vintage 1985 Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch 145.022 Caliber 861 -SOLD
The Omega Speedmaster Professional is arguably the most important watch ever made, and its importance and timeless design have made the made the Speedmaster a staple for collectors. We're excited to offer this incredible example of the reference 145.022 Moonwatch.
This is without a doubt one of the finest examples of a 1980s Speedmaster in the world and came from its original owner who wore it only a handful of times in over 30 years. It's a true time capsule watch in incredible condition and even still has the blue anti-scratch coating on the caseback and even some of the signature "red dot" on the case and caseback. The case is very obviously unpolished and looks like it just came out of the dealer showcase, and the dial is perfect with killer patina on the original tritium hour markers. This is truly a drool-worthy Speedy.
Take a look at the photos and our condition description below:
Case: 42mm stainless steel case in outstanding condition as shown. The case is clearly unpolished with a deep shine to the polished surfaces, razor sharp edges and deep grain brushing on the case sides. The original "red dot" is still present on the case and caseback (although not sealed).
Bezel: Perfect condition original "tall tachy" bezel.
Dial/Hands: Dial is original matte black tritium in mint condition and free of any staining, scratching, or damage with even, intact lume plots and a wonderful patina on the hour markers. Hands are also original tritium with a patina that matches the dial. There is some very light cracking visible int he hour hand under magnification.
Caseback: Original moon landing stamped caseback in outstanding condition with only very light surface swirls on the polished surface as pictured. There is no paint loss to the engravings and the center Hippocampus still has the factory blue anti-scratch coating.
