1989 Rolex Datejust Ref. 16223 Matte Blue Roman Dial "L" Series w/ Box and Papers
The Rolex Datejust is one of the most timeless watch designs ever, with a nearly unmatched versatility proven by its largely unchanged design for over half a century. The example here is the reference 16233, the first with a sapphire crystal. This watch features the hard to find matte blue Roman dial with gold applied markers and print. This watch comes complete with its original box and papers and is in excellent condition as pictured.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: 36mm stainless steel case in excellent condition as pictured. The case shows minor wear commensurate with age but has thick lugs with strong brushing and crisp edges.
Bezel: Fixed fluted 18k gold bezel in excellent condition with sharp, deep flutes as pictured.
Dial/Hands: Scarce matte blue applied Roman dial in excellent condition. The original gold hands show some very minor spotting which can be seen in the photos.
Caseback: Original caseback in very good condition as pictured.
Crystal: Blemish free sapphire crystal.
Movement: Rolex caliber 3135 automatic movement with quickset date. The movement is in excellent condition and keeping great time. All functions work as they should.
Bracelet/Strap: Original 62523 Jubilee bracelet in good condition with moderate stretch. Bracelet is sized for a 7.75" wrist and does not include any additional links.
Box/Papers/Accessories: The original inner and outer boxes, warranty certificate, Datejust booklet, certificate sleeve and polishing cloth are included as pictured.
