The 105.012 is the same reference worn by the astronauts on the Apollo 11 mission, cementing the Speedmaster's legacy by becoming the first watch worn on the moon. With this significance, this watch has emerged as a very important Speedmaster reference and continues to be one of the most sought after vintage watches on the planet.
This example comes from my personal collection and has been in my possession for the last 5 years. It was freshly serviced when I purchased it and I have worn this watch approximately 10 times in that time period. It has been stored in a humidity controlled environment when not being worn. The watch is in outstanding condition and retains all of its key components, including a beautiful dial with intact lume that has aged wonderfully as have the original hands with matching lume. The dot over 90 bezel is nearly flawless. The crown is the original "flat foot" and although the pushers appear to be service replacements they are the correct short "mushroom" type for the reference. I purchased the watch with the light engraving on the caseback which reads MTYLTT, standing for "more than yesterday, less than tomorrow", a phrase applicable to all of us in many different ways.
The watch comes with its original red box, chronograph use booklet, "You and your Omega" general booklet, and the original international guarantee booklet which has been fully filled out with the watch's serial number, the name of the first owner as well as the salesperson, the location where the watch was sold, and the original sale date of November 18, 1967. This watch is a fantastic example of an important reference in Speedmaster history and has the provenance of its original paperwork.
