1965 Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806 Venus 178 "Twin Jet" - SOLD

After the success of the world’s first slide rule chronograph, the Chronomat, Breitling developed the Navitimer in the early 1950s. Originally sold through the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Navitimer has become an iconic pilot’s watch and it still sold over 60 years later.
Luxuwrist.com is proud to offer this 1964 model, with its “twin jet” dial with small subdials, is an excellent example of the classic reference 806 Navitimer.
This 806 Navitimer is in excellent vintage pre-owned condition.
Case: Excellent 42mm stainless steel case with no major dings, dents, or deep scratches as shown in the photos. The original chamfers on the lugs are still present. Crown is original correct signed “B” crown and pushers start, stop, and reset the chronograph smoothly.
Bezel: Original polished stainless steel bezel with internal slide rule in excellent condition.
Dial/Hands: Original black dial with twin jet logo in excellent condition with all text present and no damage to the dial. Hands are original stick hands with minor blemishes to the paint near the center. The markers and hands appear to have been relumed.
Caseback: Original solid caseback with serial number engraved on the inside. Serial number is 1021XXX dating the watch to 1965.
Crystal: Acrylic crystal with no chips, cracks, or deep scratches.
Movement: Original manual winding Venus caliber 178 column wheel chronograph in excellent condition. Watch was just serviced in March 2015 and keeps excellent time. All functions work as they should.
Bracelet/Strap: New Old Stock vintage Breitling strap with Breitling Twin Jet buckle.
Accessories: None.
