Before the quartz crisis, the 60s and 70s brought us hordes of watch manufacturers producing all kinds of interesting pieces. While some were too radical or uninspired to stand the test of time, a few select models still look great today, and collectors are taking notice. Clebar was a small manufacturer whose collection included various tool watches including chronographs like this vintage bicompax piece, utilizing proven Swiss movements from companies like Valjoux and Landeron. While the quartz crisis took it toll on the Clebars of the world, forcing the brand into obscurity, their designs still exist today and offer an outstanding value for vintage watch collectors.
Luxuwrist.com is proud to offer a vintage Clebar chronograph in excellent condition. This watch is powered by the Valjoux 7733 and is in great working condition.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: 37mm stainless steel case in excellent condition as shown in the photos. The case shows very minor wear for its age and there no major scratches, gouges, dings, or dents in the case. The crown appears bronze in certain light as shown in the photos.
Bezel: White internal fixed tachymetre bezel with no signs of wear.
Dial/Hands: Original dial and hands with tritium markers which have faded to a beautiful cream patina. Hands are original and have matching patina.
Caseback: Original screwback caseback with no major signs of wear.
Crystal: Domed acrylic crystal with no major scratching, and no chips or cracks.
Movement: Valjoux 7733 in excellent condition with all functions working as they should. Chronograph starts, stops, and resets to zero. Service history is unknown.
Bracelet/Strap: Black leather strap in excellent condition with SS buckle.
Accessories: None, sold as watch only.
