Since its inception in 1830, Baume & Mercier has been a staple in the Swiss watch industry. This watch, manufactured in the 1940s, was constructed when B&M already had over 100 years of watchmaking experience, and it shows. With a sporty but elegant case in 18k gold, clean bi-compax layout, and proven Landeron movement, this chronograph is a must-have if you're dressing to impress.
Luxuwrist.com is proud to offer a vintage Baume & Mercier chronograph in solid 18k yellow gold. This watch is approximated to be manufactured in the 1940s and is powered by a Landeron 48 manual wound chronograph movement.
Please review the photos and the following for condition:
Case: 35mm 18k gold case in very good condition. The case has not been overpolished and the lugs retain their original chamfers. There is a small dent in the 7 o’clock lug shown in detail in one of the photos.
Bezel: Polished 18k gold in very good condition.
Dial/Hands: Original dial and hands. Dial is cream colored with crisp printing and a tachymeter scale around the dial. The minute totalizer also features markings at 3, 6, and 9 minutes, used to time payphone calls in the past. Markers are applied and hands are gold stick with no lume.
Caseback: 18k caseback with a stamped 3915 on the rear and signed with gold hallmarks on the inside.
Crystal: Excellent acrylic “tophat” crystal with no major scratching. There are no cracks or chips in the crystal.
Movement: Landeron 48 manual wound chronograph movement. The watch runs, winds, and sets as it should and keeps good time. The chronograph functions as it should with the start, stop and reset to zero functions all working.
Bracelet/Strap: Brand new 16mm dark brown leather strap with gold plated buckle.
Accessories: None. Sold as watch only.
