Luxuwrist.com is proud to offer an incredibly rare and seldom seen Omega Speedmaster Professional reference DD145.0022 in gold and stainless steel. These watches were produced in the early 1980s and while not known as a limited edition are incredibly rare and very rarely come up for sale.
This two-tone Speedmaster is characterized by its unique gold dial with silver subdials, solid 18k gold bezel, and two-tone 1171 bracelet. The half-gold 1171 was made using the same tooling as the stainless steel model, and as such these bracelets (and endlinks) are impossible to find and are not reproduced by Omega. The current stock of these bracelets that exists in the wild is all that will ever exist.
Production numbers on this model are not known, however with how rarely they appear on the market it is believed to be extremely low, on the order of a couple hundred pieces over the years it was in production. Contrary to popular belief, this model was not a special edition exclusive to the Italian market.
This watch was serviced by Omega in 2013 and comes with service paperwork. This scarce Speedy is in outstanding condition.
Condition is per the photos and as follows:
Case: 42mm stainless steel case in outstanding condition with crisp, deep factory brushing on the case sides and bright polished surfaces on the twisted lugs.
Bezel: Solid 18kt yellow gold bezel in like new condition with almost no signs of wear.
Dial/Hands: Original gold dial with applied steel and black markers, and silver subdials. There are small tritium lume plots on the outside edges of the markers. The hands are black with gold bases and were replaced by Omega when the watch was serviced in 2013. The seconds hand is luminova.
Caseback: Original DD145.0022 caseback in very good condition with only minor marks and scratches, and small areas of missing paint in the moonwatch inscription. There is also a very small engraving or hallmark on the caseback with the acronym GSU. It is not known if these are the initials of the previous owner or they were put there for some other reason. They are very light and only visible at certain angles.
Crystal: Like new OEM Omega hesalite crystal with no scratching, cracking, or chipping.
Movement: Omega caliber 861 hand winding chronograph movement in outstanding condition. The watch keeps excellent time as it was serviced by Omega in 2013. All functions work as intended. The chronograph resets to zero.
Bracelet/Strap: Original 1171 two tone bracelet with correct, original two tone end links. The bracelet shows moderate stretch but still is in excellent condition and will fit a 7.25” wrist.
Accessories: Modern Omega inner and outer boxes (not pictured) are included. Also included is the service paperwork outlining the movement testing and service date.
