Luxuwrist.com is proud to offer a 1972 Heuer Autavia Viceroy Ref. 1163V. This watch has a 276XXX serial number indicating late 1972 production and is considered part of the last, sixth “batch” of the Viceroy models. This Viceroy Autavia is completely original except for a newly fitted replacement crystal and appears in unpolished condition.
This Autavia comes with a brand new unworn reproduction original rally style strap, and an original 1972 magazine ad featuring the original Viceroy promotion through which the watch could be ordered. This is not a reproduction or a copy but an original magazine clipping from the Viceroy campaign.
Case: 42mm stainless steel case which appears unpolished. Original case chamfers are present and sharp. Polished sides show minor wear as shown in the photos but no gouges or deep dents are present.
Bezel: Original bidirectional tachymetre bezel in very good condition as shown in the photos. The insert shows very minor wear in some spots.
Dial/Hands: Original black dial with polished steel markers with white inserts. The tritium is complete and has aged to a light patina. Hands are original stainless steel with red accents and narrow tritium portions. The dial has light hand drag marks in the center which can be seen in the dial detail photo. They are only noticeable under certain lighting conditions.
Caseback: Excellent condition solid brushed stainless steel screw caseback.
Crystal: Acrylic crystal in very good condition with no deep scratches, cracks, or chips.
Movement: Heuer caliber 12 automatic chronograph movement with all functions working correctly including start, stop, and reset to zero of the chronograph. The movement keeps good time.
Bracelet/Strap: New, unworn black leather rally strap in the same style as the original strap shown in the included magazine ad.
